Stuart R. Young

Stuart Richard Young first served as a Minister in the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs. Since then Young has served in several Ministerial capacities- as Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister before being confirmed as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, as Minister of Communications and Minister of National Security. On April 19, 2021 he was appointed Minister of Energy and Energy Industries in addition to his duties as Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister.

Dr Carlton Roberts

Holder of a PhD degree in Plant Science from the University of the West Indies where he lectures in Caribbean Island Ecology, And Biodiversity Conservation. He recently provided technical oversight on a rehabilitation of abandoned quarry sites project in northeast Trinidad under the Integrated Land Water and Ecosystems Management (IWeco) program. He is currently involved with a sustainable livelihoods initiative with some participants of the quarry rehabilitation project. Dr Roberts worked forty years in the field of Forestry and retired as the Deputy Conservator of Forests.

Mr Arnott Jones
Mr Arnott Jones

Mr. Arnott Jones is an Environmental Programme Officer II, at the EMA within the Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) Unit. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Geography from UWI, Mona, and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UWI, St. Augustine. Arnott additionally possesses postgraduate training in Coastal Processes and Methodological Criteria for Beach Recovery from the Institute of Marine Science (ICIMAR) Cuba, Project Management Certification from the Galilee International Management Institute, and training in Economic Evaluation of Ecosystem Services from the UN - Global Environment Facility (GEF).

Dr Oral Burns Rainford

Dr. Rainford is a mining, minerals, energy, education and sustainable development professional with over twenty seven (27) years’ experience in Jamaica’s minerals, mining, energy and education sectors. He has amassed extensive experience in infusing sustainable development into the minerals and energy sectors, policy and programme development, mining operations and industry monitoring, planning, transforming policy to legislation, research, government procurement, project management, sector promotion, and developing training opportunities for the minerals sector, particularly the Industrial Minerals Sector, and adult education.
